WADSWORTH: The Frogen Yozurt store has opened at 1154 Hinkle Drive in the shopping plaza just north of Wal-Mart.
Mark and Linda Nowak said the spelling for the name came from their daughter's mispronunciation of the term "frozen yogurt."
Mark Nowak said this is the first venture into retail business. He said he "always wanted to be in the food industry” and believed this was the safest way to enter the food industry with the least risk.
Linda Nowak noted the business would focus on "freshness and quality." She explained many toppings would be available, including with fresh fruit. She added the yogurt will be fresh and not powdered.
"We also want to provide a wholesome family, friendly experience," she said.
Linda Nowak said they had looked into franchising but decided setting up their own store was the right choice for them.
The toppings will include hot and cold items, Mark Nowak said, with some of those being malt, cereals, nuts, cheesecake and cookie dough bites.
He added the customer would get their choice of yogurt from a bank of machines and then apply the toppings they choose. After that, the yogurt will be weighed to determine the price, he noted.
