Akron, OH – August 16, 2012 -- Odds Against Tomorrow, a new high energy, progressive rock and metal group, is releasing their new CD “Ceremony in Death” tomorrow at a CD Release party at the Vortex in Akron. Already global, a pre-release of two of their songs “Ceremony in Death” and “Sweet Angel” has been playing on a Cleveland radio station and a radio station in the United Kingdom, just to name a few.
Odds Against Tomorrow was formed in 2012 by Matt Horner and Shawn Miller, both of Wadsworth. After a difficult search looking for the missing pieces of their project, they found the key members and played their first show on November 3, 2012. It’s been all uphill from there. In January of 2013, they released their first EP entitled “Underground”. They started writing and playing out more, which helped in developing their true sound. Some of their favorite places to perform are the Vortex in Akron and the Foundry and Phantasy in Lakewood. The experience playing out prompted them to move on to their next project, preparing to put out a full length CD.
The best thing about this band is that it is so difficult to place one type of genre on them. Their new album entitled “Ceremony in Death” has it all. It has the heaviness and that metal drive that gets the crowd going crazy, the simple rock songs that everyone can enjoy and sing along t, but then they have the ballads, two songs that musically are simply beautiful and lyrically are so touching and striking to the heart.
Also performing at the CD release party at the Vortex on Saturday, August 17 are the bands “My Lifes Burden”, “Entendre”, “Sicadia”, “Bring Out Your Dead” and “Advance on Thermopylae”.
Their full length, 11 song CD will be on sale starting Sunday, August 18 on iTunes, Amazon.com and Bandcamp.com. Visit them on Facebook and Reverbnation to get all the latest updates and information about their songs and upcoming shows.
