Soprema Senior Center activities this week

The Soprema Senior Center activities this week will include tax filing assistance on Monday and Wednesday and a new program, "Cinetherapy" on Friday. (Beau Dusz/Ohio.com)

On Monday, tax-filing assistance will be available from 9-noon for those who have an appointment. This assistance is an AARP program hosted by the Center. At 1 p.m. a craft class titled" Make & Take Greeting Cards" will be held.

For Tuesday, the walking track at the YMCA will be available for seniors to use from 9-11 a.m. Seniors not members of the Y must stop at the Soprema Center to receive a pass to use the track. Cards and games will be available from 9:30-11:30 a.m. and a roundtable discussion titled "Heart Disease-What You Should Know Now" will be held from 1:30-3 p.m. by Dr. David Lance, medical director of Hospice of Wadsworth-Rittman.

On Wednesday, assistance with the filing of taxes will be available from 9-noon for those with an appointment. Arthritis exercise will be from 10-11 a.m. and Tai Chi Practice from 3-4 p.m.

For Thursday, the programs include card lessons from 10-11 a.m.; Mah Jongg, 10-11:30 a.m. and the walking track at the YMCA will be available from noon-2 p.m. Also on Thursday, Bridge will be from 12-3:30 p.m. and a cooking class from 2-3 p.m.

Bingo will be held from 10-11:30 a.m. on Friday and a new program called "Cinetherapy" will begin at 1 p.m. Cinetherapy offers grief support through the use of films. There will be 12 films in this program, each followed by a group discussion during which participants can share stories and gain different perspectives on grief. Cinetherapy is free and open to the public. To make a reservation for Cinetherapy, call 330-335-1513.
