The Wadsworth Community Band will present its last concert of the summer at 7 p.m. Sunday at the Buffalo Creek Resort, 8708 Hubbard Valley Road, Seville.

This free concert will be the last for conductor Dr. William I. Bauer, who founded the band 10 years ago. Bauer has accepted a position at the University of Florida. The band consists of 50 members, 20 of whom were in the band since its beginning.

Band member Pat Santelli will succeed Bauer. Santelli has 30 years of experience directing high school bands, the last being at Norton High School for 19 years.

Santelli said he is "honored to have been asked to take over." He noted he was not looking for the position but the "assignment found me." Santelli is a member of the Norton Board of Education.

The concert selections will include overtures, marches, Broadway and movie hits, and patriotic music. The concert will conclude with John Philip Sousa's "Stars and Stripes Forever."

Trumpeter Ken Holzworth will be a featured soloist.

The band is seeking new members on all instruments and no audition is required. For more information, visit wadsworthcommunityband.com.

The concert will be held outdoors so please bring lawn chairs. In case of rain, it will be moved to the indoors.
