Wadsworth High School hosts American Cancer Society's Relay for Life on Saturday

WADSWORTH: The American Cancer Society will hold its seventh Relay for Life in Wadsworth from 10 a.m. Saturday to 10 a.m. Sunday at the Wadsworth High School Track, 625 Broad St.

The theme of the event is "Bon Voyage to Cancer." Wadsworth Mayor Robin Laubaugh is serving as the captain.

The society's goal is to raise $45,000 for research, education, local patient services and advocacy.

Numerous musicians will perform and activities for children will be available.

Everyone is invited to participate in the free event by becoming a sponsor, creating a team, joining a team or just attending.

Events will include a survivor lap, children's coloring contest, water balloon toss, karaoke hour, butterfly release, luminaria walk, sunrise service and a fight back ceremony.
