Wadsworth park shelter reservations

Spring is coming and reservations to use the shelters in the city's parks will be taken beginning March 1.

Reservations will only be taken in person beginning at 8:30 a.m. March 1 on the second floor of City Hall, 120 Maple Street.

After March 1, reservations can be made by phone with a credit card. Payment is required to hold reservations.

Parks available for reservations include Muhl, Memorial, Valley View, Weatherstone, New Bird, Old Bird, Friedt and Durling. Fees for Muhl, Memorial and Valley View reservations are $45 for residents and $70 for non-residents, and for the other parks, $35 and $60.

Muhl, located in the southwest section of the city off Trease Road, has 28 acres with a parking lot, soccer fields, play structure, shelter, electricity, restrooms, drinking fountain, picnic tables, basketball court and park benches.

Memorial Park, located off Ault Street, has more than 47 acres with picnic tables, grills, shelters, electricity, playground equipment, restrooms, parking lot, park benches, ball field, tennis courts, fishing pond, drinking fountain and a sidewalk for walking around the pond.

Valley View, located off West Street, has more than 14 acres with picnic tables, grills, shelter, electricity, playground, restrooms, parking lot, basketball court, ball fields, fenced play area, sand box and drinking fountain.

Weatherstone, located in the northwest section of the city off Reimer Road, with more than five acres, has lighted ball fields, parking lot, shelter, electricity, restrooms and picnic tables.

New Bird Park, located in the southeast section of the city, includes more than 26 acres and has a parking lot, shelter, electricity, restrooms, drinking fountain, picnic tables, grills and ball fields.

Old Bird Park, also in the southeast section, has picnic tables, grills, shelters, electricity, play equipment, restrooms, parking lot basketball court, ball fields and drinking fountain with more than five acres.

Friedt Park, off Leatherman Road, has more than 11 acres with a T-ball field, play structure, shelter, parking lot, portable restrooms, picnic tables, basketball court and electricity.

Durling Park, off Humbolt Avenue near the intersection with Boyer Street, includes more than five acres with picnic tables, grills, shelter, electricity, playground equipment, restrooms, parking lot, park benches, baseball diamond, basketball court, tennis courts, sand box and drinking fountain.
