Walmart and the Salvation Army will partner in a Stuff-A-Truck event from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday at the Wadsworth Walmart, 222 Smokerise Dr.

Debbie Grace of the Wadsworth Salvation Army said this is the first partnership between the organizations, and the event is nationwide.

According to Grace, Anshutz Movers will provide a truck and volunteers, and the Salvation Army Women's Auxiliary will provide some of the labor.

The goal is for shoppers to bring new toys and new coats to the truck. Those items will be used in the Army's Christmas distribution program. Toys can be for infants through late teens; the coats, for infants through adult.

Grace said the Army expects to help more than 300 households this Christmas, with those households representing more than 750 people.

Distribution of the Army's Adopt-A-Family Program will be Dec. 19 and general distribution will be Dec. 21, Grace noted.
